12 Days of Christmas - Day 6
This design was inspired by Cindy Schuster's version. Cindy used gold and silver ornaments for a very elegant style. I edited my version to stick with the more traditional reds and greens of the Christmas season. I also loved to see this set used as something other than cookies to show off its versatility.

12 Days of Christmas - Day 5
I said yesterday that I would share another of the cards I made from Ange's tutorial.
My eye was attracted to the multi-pattern pairing of this design. They are busy but don't compete with each other. I love when another designer makes me step out of my comfort zone.
This is another project I shared with customers who signed up for my 1-day retreat in October. What fun!

12 Days of Christmas - Day 4
When I first start playing with a stamp set I often CASE a few from another designers. It gets my creative juices flowing. When we CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit), we find our inspiration in someone else's project - whether it is the theme, colours, layout or products. We use the elements we like to create our own project but it is important to remember to give credit where it is due - back to the original designer. This card was designed by Ange McKay and I loved her use of our silver foil paper to create a baking sheet.
I wanted to give the cards on Ange's tutorial a try because they were outside of my design style. I'll share another one from the set tomorrow but you'll notice how busy they both are. I love the pairing of multiple patterns of the designers series papers. I think it gives both cards a very fun, whimsical feel. However, it isn't something I would have paired together on my own. Playing with designs by others can open up our own designs to other possibilities.
