Christmas in July

Christmas in July

I had so much fun playing along with the last challenge, I decided to try it again!

This month's Global Design Project challenge was a colour challenge using Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana and Polished Pink.  Aren't these colours beautiful together?!

My box with pre-order supplies had just arrived with all my Christmas themed goodies and it was the perfect excuse to play a little. And it was team meeting night which meant a mystery stamping challenge.  I decided to roll both challenges into one and I love the results.  This cute Z-fold card is so fun!

This fun Whimsy and Wonder suite will be available starting August 3! And I'll share the instructions for this card during an upcoming Facebook live on August 16th.

Make sure you check out the other projects in this challenge by visiting this linkI hope you find ideas that continue to inspire your own projects.

Global Design Project #300

This weekend I decided to participate in a challenge issued by Global Design Project.

Participating in one of their challenges has been on my to-do list for awhile. We are in the middle of a crazy heat wave in Winnipeg, Manitoba and I've been working in my studio during the day to beat the heat. That offered the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I quite like how this card turned out and I'm sure I'll be using this design as a sketch in the future.

This challenge was a CASE of a project by Steffi Helmschrott, a designer on the Global Design Project team.

When we CASE (Copy and Share Everything or Copy and Selectively Edit), we find our inspiration in someone else's project - whether it is the theme, colours, layout or products. We use the elements we like to create our own project but it is important to remember to give credit where it is due - back to the original designer.  Here is the original design I cased:

I used the Penned Flowers die to provide the focal point of my card.

I love that water colouring technique for the background and it is one I'm still working on perfecting!

I hope you'll check out some of the other beautiful designs by checking out the other challenge entries at http://www.global-design-project.com/
